Review - Annisite Rechargeable Ringlight
To produce great photos, you can often do more with a little knowledge and experience than someone with a bunch of expensive gear and money.
I honestly had rather low expectations as it was a small battery powered light. Upon opening the package, I took out the clip on light, which is actually quite light. I powered it on by pressing the sole button at the top of the device and it powered on. It is a bi-color light with three lightning modes, a cool lighting mode, a warm lighting mode, and a mix of both (giving what is suppose to be daylight balanced). My camera meter is telling me when both cool and warm are powered on, it takes 5000k WB to get the color looking right.
Once you get your settings squared away, I encourage people to move the light around to create some dramatic lighting. Lighting off the axis of the camera is always more interesting. The first selfie photo in my set shows the ring light used as it should. Frontal lighting with no shadows casted. The second selfie is the same light brought off to camera right. Third selfie, I showed that it is indeed the little ring light, and when instagram 1:1 cropped, the fourth image shows some beautiful lighting. The last two images illustrate when balanced to 5000K, changing to the cool or warm settings make a pretty significant difference. For people that know what you are doing, it is generally good enough to get close to tungsten or incandescent for light color balancing.
